Build a strong foundation for your athletic season
During the Pre-Season, an athlete’s focus should be on maintaining dynamic flexibility and building strength around the joints for stabilization and injury prevention.
The good news is, you only need to add 20-30 minutes of yoga to your weekly training routine in order to start seeing the benefits! You will feel better, move better, and recover faster – allowing you to go back to practice stronger and refreshed.

Pre-Season Yoga for Athletes
Just like your training changes for the athletic seasons, so should your yoga practice.
During the Pre-Season, you are in preparation mode. Your practices increase and your training intensifies. You should be focused on building a solid foundation of strength and stability to prepare you for In-Season and Post-Season. With your yoga practice, the goal is to build heat, keep the body moving, and increase your strength and stability. This can be achieved by shifting to a more dynamic type of practice with standing postures, warrior sequences, and sun salutations.
Yes, yoga improves your flexibility, but it also is very effective at safely building strength!
