Our April Athlete of the Month is Christina Palazzolo! We’d like to give a shoutout to Christina for consistently bringing her hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm into the studio and via livestream.

1. How long have you been practicing/training at Yoga Athletex?

⁠I started with Yoga Athletex in February 2021. ⁠

2. What benefits have you received since training at Yoga Athletex?⁠⁠

I have definitely noticed a shift towards being more intrinsically motivated to do yoga. I truly feel the benefits of better flexibility, strength, balance, breathing, and mindfulness but I also get the satisfaction of attending classes (in studio and online) and really look forward to it every time. Also, I have been consistently going to classes since February and have lost 6 pounds so that’s great too!

3. What is your sport/activity outside of the studio?

Gardening! My husband and I are pretty dedicated to our backyard urban homestead and are passionate about everything health-related including healthy eating, growing our own vegetables, and working towards living more sustainably.⁠

4. What is your favorite class at Yoga Athletex and why?⁠

This is so tough to answer because I love the 45 minute HIIT workout but also Yoga for Athletes. Doing both throughout the week is the perfect balance for me. I leave every class feeling like an athlete, stronger, and grateful for what I accomplished.

5. Any advice for new people trying out the studio?⁠

This studio is such a gem. All the instructors are great. There is no pressure whatsoever to sign up like some other group fitness studios/gyms so that was nice. I definitely recommend utilizing the trial period to see how you like it and take a variety of classes to get the full experience.
