Our May Athlete of the Month is Savanna! We’d like to give a shout out to Savanna for consistently bringing her hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm into the studio every week.
How long have you been practicing/training at Yoga Athletex?
Since December of 2019.
What benefits have you received since training at Yoga Athletex?
I have back pain and various injuries from playing basketball in college, and sitting at a desk makes it worse. Some days I would have constant pain and back spasms and it was difficult to get out of bed or move. Since taking yoga and HIIT classes regularly, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the daily pain I was experiencing before.
What is your sport/activity outside of the studio?
I played basketball, but now I just focus on staying mentally and physically healthy.
What is your favorite class at Yoga Athletex and why?
Even though I’m the first to complain about Cardio + Core on Wednesdays, it’s one of my favorite classes. It’s so tough, but you leave with such a sense of accomplishment knowing that you killed it that day.
My second favorite is Yoga for Athletes because I always feel 100% better when I leave.
Any advice for new people trying out the studio?
Stick with it and don’t give up if the classes feel hard at first. They start off hard for everyone. When you start seeing and feeling the results, all the hard work is worth it.
