Want to do a HIIT class and get those A’s (& W’s)?
In a 2019 study, published by Neurology, it was proven that “increased cortical thickness suggests that aerobic exercise contributes to brain health in individuals as young as 20.” In this specific study, Columbia University professor Yaakov Stern, PhD, et al. studied a group of 132 adult men and women which were all classified as “cognitively normal” and “below median aerobic capacity.”
All participants were divided into two groups for 6 months: one focused on aerobic exercise (much like our HIIT classes) and the other on stretching and toning. Each group participated in 4 sessions (the minimum recommended at YAX) each week. Many factors associated with higher intelligence scores such as cognitive function, aerobic capacity, body mass index (BMI), and cortical thickness were measured.
The aerobic exercise group showed improvement in cognition, which includes executive function, episodic memory, processing speed, language and attention, for all ages. Our conclusion is that all student athletes can perform better overall in the gym and classroom when participating in aerobic exercises such as our on-demand HIIT classes.

Here are the descriptions for our HIIT classes!
HIIT Cardio & Core
This high-intensity interval training (HIIT) circuit class is for all levels. We focus on cardiovascular endurance and core strength through a series of exercises. As with all our classes, you will find a science-based focus on weight loss and sports performance. You can expect modifications of the exercises for limitations or progressions for the competitor.
This class is a Tabata style circuit that provides 8 different exercises on a 20/10 interval for 8 rounds each.
45-minute class. Ages 11+. All levels.
HIIT Endurance
This full body, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) circuit class is for all levels. We move in every plane of motion and focus on increasing functional movement capabilities, core strength and muscular endurance, through science-based, weight loss and sports performance techniques. You can expect modifications of the exercises for limitations or progressions for the competitor. This is our signature 10 station circuit that provides 10-30 different exercises on a 30/30 interval.
45-minute class. Ages 11+. All levels.
HIIT 30
This full body, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) circuit class is for all levels. We move in every plane of motion and focus on increasing functional movement capabilities, core strength and muscular endurance, through science-based, weight loss and sports performance techniques. You can expect modifications of the exercises for limitations or progressions for the competitor.
This is a shortened version of our HIIT Endurance class as you will move through 6 different exercises on intervals of 45/15 to allow more time to master the exercises. Very beginner friendly.
30-minute class. Ages 11+. All levels
HIIT Jump
This high-intensity interval training (HIIT) circuit class is for all levels. You can expect a plyometric workout at the power level, rotating through explosive force, repetition and speed. We specifically program this class for those wanting to increase their vertical for their sport, increase overall athletic performance or just improve bone density, lower body, and core strength.
30-minute class. Ages 11+. All levels.

Most people have some sort of dysfunctional breathing pattern that they are unaware of. It can destabilize your trunk, cause loss in mobility, lower movement efficiency, and reduce force potential.
Jump training, also known as plyometric/speed/muscular endurance training, is geared toward athletes looking to increase their vertical, speed, power, balance, and agility, as well as reduce injury onset.
Being mentally resilient means being able to recover quickly from difficulties. It's a skill that takes practice. You need to train your mind.
